How does this instrument end up here?
In parallel, I read Daniel Mendelsohn's Les Disparus. The author ties up loose ends, goes, 60 years later, in search of pieces of it, gathers them together, untangles them, ties them up again, tries to fill in the holes, organize the fragments. That's it. A story that unfolds, that is written in time.
First of all, make a place for it. There it is in its place. As one can say that I am in my place at Chassy, what may be surpriseing. The instrument was reassembled, I cleaned it, I put away the bobbins, the spindles, the shuttles, I learned unknown words, I got used to its presence, I met Patrick Guerrier.
First step: adjust it, tune it. Organize this tangle of strings, knotted, broken, knotted aggain over the years; do not get tangled up !
